Renault CAN CLiP no vcc 3.3v to AN2135SC

In the CAN CLIP inner board, I found no vcc 3.3v to AN2135SC fromvoltage regulator. Actually there is no +5v IN from usb port to voltage regulator . Need +5v on both pins (1 and 3)

On red arrow no +5V on image,normally no 3v3 to blue arrow,but on green there is +5v

Also from back side near usb connis also same vol.reg and its have all voltages ok

Here are some Renault clip users’ solution. I adopted it... Worked!

it is possible solder a wire from +5v to IN pin, but also need to OFF\ON pin to enable output voltage 3.3v. But in that case both red diodes are ON even no connected obd conn to car. Also tried to "take" 3.3v from other clip pcb and then find sonde when start clip sq, only ask for firmware update so will try lower version sw. Now use v96

Then I sill bring +5v to both IN and ON/OFF and will get 3v3 only both red leds will be on

Another user also had a problem with the 3.3V regulator , and he used a normal 3.3v regulator without ON/OFF and it worked correctly , except that the 2 red leds always on.

*** Works on Windows XP

Works only Win XP, if you want you need a virtual machine for use this in win 7 but i never tested this

*** Windows 7, work or not

- Works fine on win7 x86.

- Yes,CanClip runs on Windows 7-x64 and Windows 8....8.1-x64 m because use x-86 files from the system. 

- If your version of Windows 7 Home Basic or Home Premium x64 it is normally not work, try Enterprise or Ultimate , I use Win 7 Ultimate x64 and canclip works very well

- Automatically detect a driver in both win7 and in win7-x86-x64, a kind canclip ALIANCE driver, bosch automotive ... etc..

is absolutely necessary to have all updates made​to the operating system before installation canclip

- i try install in win 7 x64 pc but the driver of VCI not work

- It isNOT working in my Win7 64-bit

- same issue,not working W7 64bit

*** why some CAN CLIP cannot work on Widows 7 64bit?

- The Clip software itself works with 64bit version of Windows 7 but the hardware won't.. Simply because the there are no 64bit drivers for SONDE can clip..

- I think there are no drivers made for 64bit windows...

it works only with 32bit windows

*** What to do if Renault CAN CLIP cannot work on Windows 64 bit?

-Try disable driver signature enforsment in win 64bit..that help many times

- Or just RIGHT CLICK the .inf File and click INSTALL

Then if you get certificate error you can fix that in device manager/

by right click and install certificate even if invalid

- You need to know your can clip is probe (sonde) or alliance.

alliance = works both on 32 and 64 bit os

probe (sonde) = works only on 32 bit os

i think sonde is better than alliance

You can disassemble your CAN Clip and check it on PCB

How to download and save ecu data in Renault CAN CLIP

I have the reprogramming feature with the can clip v160. I cannot see where to download and save the existing ecu data as a file. either as a backup or to save and send off for remapping.

And here is all user suggestion... Should be ok i think. Wish tips below help anyone also.

Why cannot see the option (download & save data)?

Because in your renault can clip software, there exists no option of this.

What is needed for download & save data in renault CLiP?
You need another cable for that.

Use ren k line tool (google search this from immotools) or kess v2, mpps, etc

Definitely yes. i have some experience with s3000 which is on petrol models after 2003 inc 2.0t sport on megane version and read manually by mpps .

i resolder obd and give 14v supply to the ecu and the mpps v12 (chinees clone) but always use supply over +13v cause the interface burning the can chip

For command name SC003, look here the picture from Dialogys e.g. DCM12 saving data before replacing the ecu :

There are some ecus SC003 possible >> diesel DCM12, DCM34 , petrol V42 <<

also some SC003 not implemented >> petrol EMS 3132, SIM32 

So finding that command depends on the ecu, diesel have, petrol might not have.
