Cool! Just Succeed in reading and writing Opel Siemens Simtec ECU 71.6 Advanced CAN v0.7 with  Carprog 08/21 ; i mean, i used this Carprog to change mileage. Share with you all.

The source (diyobd2.fr) is advised by a forum fellow. His has lots of experience on new update regarding mileage correction:

This is what i did ...

Open Carprog v8.21 interface

Select ECU-> Opel CAN-> Siemens Simtec 71.6 Advanced v0.7

Make sure that Carprog and ECU is connected in a good condition

Then select Read EEPROM

Click OK

Connecting to ECU ...

Reading 100%, Eeprom info

Change the mileage, then click Write EEPROM, OK to continue

[Feedback] Obdstar F108 success on Citroen aircross 2015

This is a review on  Obdstar key programmer F108  running on  Citroen Aircross 2015th .

This is OBDSTAR F108 package i got from diyobd2.fr. Sorry for photos are not with high definition as you wish.

The package includes:

F108 main unit

TF card

All items were packed in a hard paper box, in a good condition ... No damages.

I purchase this device because of the following reasons:

1) i have 2015 Citroen aircross needs adding new keys, and this is the only professional auto key programmer for Citroen (also, Peugeot and DS)

2) my wife drives 2009 Peugeot 508. F108 works for that also; maybe in the near future, it will ...

3) The price point for F108 was just right. € 157 is ok price for me.

4) F108 can read PIN codes and program keys together. I do not need to buy other new PIN code readers.

To begin with, I go through the basic functions. Below is the start-up screen as soon as the device is plugged into the OBDII port (The unit will power-up as soon as it's plugged in).

The device is easy to use (plug and play) and set-up is pretty self explanatory. i cycle through the scanner using the arrow buttons and enter / back buttons.

And managed to read Citroen aircross PIN code

All done with the help of the screen instruction - very detailed.

Sp, if you're a home mechanic, it's is seriously worth of your purchase, like me. Just need access to your car (Peugeot, Citroen, DS). It's straight forward and easy to operate, accessing cars and reading security codes and programming new keys quickly.

The instructions are clear to follow with pictures for every step. Updating the software is easy too, especially if using a laptop with an SD card reader as you plug the tool's card into your computer, run the software, update, unplug and go.

It's a happy shopping in China; but i think it would be better if  Obdstar F108  has the option of the French language.

How to run ISTA-P with K+DCAN cable using ICOM A2

This is the instruction on how to run Rheingold ista / p with  K + Dcan USB cable  using  BMW ICOM A2  diagnostic tool.

 

1.Disable firewall.

2.Remove voltage constant.

3.Extract and copy the ICOM emulator xml files to:

*: \ Apps \ wsm \ apps \ agent \ data \

4. In VMware network editor, ensure "VMnet0" is set to "bridged" and your LAN network adaptor is selected in the drop down menu.

5. In VMware network editor, add a new network called "VMnet3" and set it up as shown in the picture below:

Note: Click "apply" and "ok" and close down VMware.

6. Open VMware again and start emulator using the k + dcan snapshot. Once it has loaded up, go to the vm settings and change network adaptor 1 to "VMnet3 (host only)". Click "ok" then wait 30 seconds for network to re-initialise.

note: you can now create new snapshot if you want.

7. Connect  K + Dcan cable  to emulator and car and run "Ifhsrv32" using icon on desktop emulator.

note: ensure k + dcan cable usb icon is active in the vm.

8. Start ISTAP native, start a session and choose "ICOM emulator" in connection manager screen.

note: if everything is ok, the led on your cable should start to flash after a minute or so. If not, recheck emulator settings (ie com9, latency timer set to 1 etc.).

Review on Autel MaxiDas DS708 for OBD I old cars

The local shop is Peddling the Autel  DS708 Autel Maxidas . It seems to be a fairly inclusive scan tool at a price that is attractive enough that I am strongly considering purchasing one for personal use ...

From what I can tell, they are relatively new to the US market and nobody around here has heard of them, so before I buy one (yes I'll demo it too) I'd like some input from those who have seen one in the wild ...

The problem is that I want OBD 1 coverage AND ABS / airbag, something that the average sub 400.00 scan tool wont do ... Some one says DS708 is disappointing in the coverage of older vehicles - it works on none of old Japanese plugs - Toyota , Mazda, Nissan, the only OBDI it works on is Honda, it's useless on the rest. But does Mercedes and BMW.

Some days later, I had the MaxiDas unit on demo from the diyobd2. I can say that I'll likely opt not to buy it. One of the big reasons for me buying a tool of this caliber is to be able to use it on the wife's OBD I car and access her ABS and airbag info. This unit will not communicate with OBD I in site of the fact that it comes with the GM 12 pin connector. Also noticed some (simple) spelling errors (like engein instead of engine). Not sure why that bugs me but it does. I plugged it into an 03 Olds Alero and was pleasantly surprised at it's level of accessibility. I could reprogram key fobs, reset trans adaptives, do CKP variation relearns and command several relays and widgets for testing purposes. Also had access to all live data in the BCM, SRS and ABS.

The Snap-On rep stopped by this week and made a smoking deal on a China site. It's supposed to be faster than previous offerings and still be quite capable.

I got the  Autel DS708  unit this Monday. I have to say how lucky i am can get it with the best price (€ 699). It's said that DS708 has been stopped production and now at sales in China. I am sure it is original one as before for i have taken it to the local shop to verify. So now, if anyone has specific questions concerning it, feel free to ask.
